I was touched to see the children doing their best in front of the large turnout of adults that day. Special acknowledgement went out to the 6 years old who confidently recited the Hokkien poem in rhythm with the castanet.
Some parents have shared with me that their children sang and recited poems wonderfully at home. So for the children who were reluctant to perform in front of large crowd, I will continue to encourage them. I know that one day they will start to actively and confidently participate in the performances.
We have some friends leaving us in the month of July and August. To these friends we wish them all the best in their future undertakings. They will always stay in our hearts and also in the friends’ hearts. In fact, for quite some time, the children will continue to mention their names during our daily prayer as they treat them as one of the absentees that needed to be mentioned in our prayer.
On the other hand, these wonderful children will readily open their hands to welcome the new friends that will be joining us. The play dynamics will change again with the new friends and I will share it with you next time.
This month is the month of Ramadan in the Muslim calendar. Our children have shown their understanding that I am fasting and thus do not join them for lunch.
We would like to invite all parents to the Nania Parents’ Evening on the 2nd of August (Friday). Please come by 7.15pm as we will start at 7.30pm and end by 9.00pm. On the agenda are issues related to child development and classroom experience. I will also give a brief insight into the activities that we do with the big children during their afternoon literacy hour. On the other hand, we can also take this opportunity to meet each other.
As we are approaching our two-week term break, I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday.
