Dear Parents,

For the past few days, Teacher Kerry and I were getting the class ready for the Graduation ceremony.  By the eve and in the morning of the big day, we added the final touches to our decorations with the help of Teacher Chithra.  At last the class room was well adorned and decorated with flowers.

The children were awe-struck by the transformation.  The 7 graduating children definitely felt the significance of their important day.  Then, the smaller children played happily in the Japanese classroom while the big children waited calmly in the English classroom for their special day to begin.

After the arrival of their parents and Teacher Junko, the graduating children took charge of the day by reciting poems, delivering meaningful speeches, singing with body movements while playing on their handmade musical instruments.  They also invited the smaller children to play with them.  The younger children co-operated by sitting quietly through the graduation process for a long while. After they played their part, they dearly congratulated their ‘ko-ko’ and ‘che-che’.

These children constantly amaze and touch my heart.  They went through countless rehearsals tirelessly and finally they delivered their performances confidently and excellently.  They sang a surprise song dedicated to their mothers which brought tears to their mothers’ eyes.

To the parents of these graduating children, we thank you for sharing with us your wonderful stories of your children.  We are glad to know that your child has benefitted from coming to Nania.  You also felt that Nania has given to them the gift of a happy childhood.  Your appreciation will inspire us to carry on caring for and nurturing these wonderful children that we have.

To the graduating children, Teacher Kerry and I love you and will always remember you.  We cherish each and every moment that we have spent together.  We are glad to be given the opportunity to be your early childhood teacher and be part of your growing up years.  You have graduated and are moving on to another milestone of your life.  May you always remember the wonderful times that you have had at Nania.  Please come back to visit us whenever you can.

Teacher Nora

Congratulations to the 7 graduating children

The room was filled with warmth and love from parents, small children and teachers to the seven graduating children.

It was wonderful to watch the 7 children reciting poems, singing and speaking with confidence.  They stood upright to signal their readiness to go on a new phase in life.

Having finished this phase with joy and confidence, I believe each of them will continue to journey on to become who they truly are and who they want to be.

The parents’ messages also touched my heart very much.  I wish the graduating children and parents many happy and fruitful years to come.  I’m grateful for your support.

Junko

Christmas Festival 15th December, 2011 (Thursday)

With the English class graduation ceremony behind them, the children are now getting into a festive mood.  They have started to practice songs and poems for the coming Christmas Festival.

During the festival ceremony, we want to prolong the particular beautiful moment when the children have lighted all the candles by singing the “Song of Prayer”.  Only after they have sung the song will we put out the candles

They have also started to weave, draw and decorate their paper ‘Christmas sock’ and are going to bring home this sock filled with their beautiful drawings and paintings on the day of the festival.

At Nania, we work on the theme of ‘sharing and giving’ with the children for the Christmas Festival.  The focus of this festival is to connect the children to their inner beings and cultivate the goodness that lies within them.  Christmas is not just about receiving presents, having parties and dressing up.  It is also about giving and nurturing kind thoughts and showing love to others.  By encouraging them to carry a kind thought for others, we hope to help the children rekindle their inner light and experience the warmth and joy of sharing and giving.

We enclose herewith songs and poems for the Christmas festival as well as the programme for your information.  I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the Christmas festival.
