October has been a busy month for the big “Ko Ko” and “Jie jie”. Before long, it will be time for their graduation on the 18th of November (Friday). This year we have 4 children graduating i.e. 2 girls and 2 boys. Chiaki, Claribel, Hayden and Yen Zhe are now diligently practicing their beautifully completed musical instruments with colourful crepe papers, as well as rehearsing their speeches, songs in preparation for their big day. Seeing the preparations and joining in the daily rehearsals, the younger children are equally enthusiastic and supportive in the rehearsals and all are looking forward to the big day!
The rainy weather is here again. This brings a lot to rejoice instead of the hazy and dusty weather this time last year. However, the wet weather conditions have seen more children catching a cold and cough. To keep the children healthy, we encouraged them to eat well, drink plenty of water and maintain active play.
We are glad that most of the children have kept healthy despite this little cold/flu period. May they all continue to be so and we look forward to have all of them supporting their class “koko””and “jie jie” during graduation day.
Deepavali is just around the corner. The display corner has now been transformed and is now graced with beautiful gold embroidered sarees, colourful bracelets, coloured wax lamps and ornaments donned and used during the festival.
In our upcoming celebration at Nania, we will relate a Deepavali story to the children and sing Deepavali songs together. For morning snack during the celebration, we will have Indian cookies made by our cook, Aunty Anny and “muruku” made by the After School Care [primary school] children under the guidance by Teacher Tiffanie and Teacher Chithra. We encourage the children to wear Indian traditional costumes, if you have any, to be in the mood for this wonderful festival of Lights.
