We are so glad and thankful
that we can celebrate the Harvest Festival at Nania again this year. Thank you
for making the effort to turn up to support your child/children on that day. We are sorry that only a parent per child was
invited. For those who couldn’t attend, we want to take this opportunity to say
thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We were touched with the
children’s performance. Mothers’ support was important to them. Noticing your encouragement, the children
gave their best in singing songs and reciting poems. The children really enjoyed the puppet show.
When they sang happily together with the puppets at the end of the puppet show,
we felt the strong connection between each other. I hope you enjoyed the day
too.
Recently, our long bean in
the garden bore fruits. We harvested the long beans and asked Aunty Janet to
cook for us. And after the Harvest Festival, Aunty Janet also cooked some
vegetables that we had displayed on the Festival Corner. Some children who didn’t
like certain type of vegetables e.g. egg plant or pumpkin, gave a try and tasted the foods served. They were
willing to try because they experienced special connection with those vegetables.
Last week we celebrated the
festival of lights, Deepavali with the children. Most of the children wore
colourful Indian traditional costume and were excited about the celebration. Teacher
Punitha danced with them in the classroom. During our snack time, we lit on the
oil lamps at the display corner. The atmosphere was serene and calm. Teacher
Punitha told a story to the children and later on we enjoyed the Indian snacks.
At the end of the day, children brought home their coloured Ranggoli pattern.
Celebrating the festival of lights gives inner strength to all of us. The lights brought hope and the story told gave strength to our soul so that we can encounter difficulties in life with the inner light in our hearts.
In a wink of an eye, it is
time for the English class graduation on the 11th of November (Friday). This year we have 3 children graduating i.e. 2
girls and 1 boy. They have made their “Star
Crowns” and weaving bags. They will make their musical instruments too for their
big day. Together with the smaller children, they are now practicing their speeches,
songs and poems earnestly in the class and are looking forward to their graduating
day.
To the graduating parents, please mark this important date in your calendar as we appreciate your full attendance and support.
