Dear parents,

Very soon, 2008 will draw to a close.This also marks my first year in Taska Nania.Working here has been wonderful.I have had many meaningful and eventful times with the children especially those in the English class.

I am part of their growth, tears and laughter.Everyday they say goodbye to their friends but then can’t wait to see them the following day. They always remember friends who are absent and offer prayers for those who are unwell.

They inspire each other daily and towards the end of the year they have learnt to play harmoniously.One obvious growth is their tremendous development in their drawing abilities.They usually start by drawing lines, then move on to heavy strokes of the rainbow which gradually morph into drawing of characters, garden landscape, houses, blue skies and butterflies. These past weeks the bigger children have drawn beautifully decorated Christmas trees and snow men.

I will miss the children who are leaving Nania and going to Primary 1 next year.However I wish them all the best in their new school.For the children who will return next year, I look forward to spending another year of wonderful moments with them.

As part of the preparations for the Christmas festival, we have placed a “Star Window calendar” in the centre of the display corner.Each day before lunch, teachers will invite one child to open the calendar.Another child will then hang the coloured star on a tree branch while two others will each take out a gnome and a wooden animal and put them on the display table.  Every child will have a chance to perform this ceremony until all the windows are open. When the last window is opened it signifies that it is time to celebrate the Christmas festival at Nania.

Coming event
We will hold the Chinese New Year Festival on 23-Jan-2009 (Friday). After that day, Taska Nania will close from 26-Jan-2009 till 29-Jan-2009. We re-open on 30-Jan-2009. Details about the festival will be given out in January, 2009.
