Teacher Kerry and I are happy to welcome all the
children who have returned to Nania. We had
7 new children join us on the first day of school. Two of them are 6 year-olds; another two are
5 while the remaining three are 4 year-olds. The 4 year-old children are
adapting better this year since they have had the advantage of attending our Saturday
toddlers’ group. Nevertheless,
kindergarten hours are longer. Hence they are trying to adjust to the different
and longer daily routine. I observe that
these children sit down easily to begin the daily activities like the artistic
activities, circle time and story time. When
they start to miss their mummies, they like us to fold them some paper origami
for comfort. In the meantime the returning children not only help
us to welcome these new children but they also assist their new friends to put
away their personal belongings in the morning.
They hold their new friends’ hands whenever they have to go to other
part of the house for our Chinese New Year practices and also during lunch
time. At other times, the returning children play
happily with each other because they missed each other during the holiday break
and are happy to see each other again. The 6 year-olds have started their afternoon
literacy time. They are eager to do what
they have seen the big children do last year.
They have also started to weave happily during their free time. Now all the children are geared up and earnestly
practicing the poems and songs for the coming Chinese New Year Festival. I look forward to seeing you and your family
on the 19th of January (Thursday) and attached herewith is the programme
for your attention. For your information, we are open on the 20th
(Friday) before we take a break for the Chinese New Year holidays from the 23rd
till the 25th. We re-open on the 26th (Thursday). All of us at Nania would like to take this opportunity to wish you and
your family ‘Gong Xi Fa Cai’.
