We hope you have enjoyed the year end break with your children. It is nice to have the children back in Nania. During the holidays, we met up with all the newcomers’ parents to prepare them and their children for the first day of school. A few days before school re-opened, all the teachers came back to clean the classroom and sun all the toys.
This year, we welcomed 8 new children who are mostly Nania Playgroup. These children adapted easily to the class rhythms having had the advantage of attending our Saturday Playgroup sessions.
The first day of school went on smoothly, even though some small children missed their mummies and cried. Thankfully, they settled down quicker than we expected. The returning children who missed the school for 2 weeks were happily sharing their holiday experiences with their friends and teachers.
The 6 years old children have started their afternoon literacy lesson. This session is basically involves weaving, reading, writing, movement, poem and song. The big children started to weave happily. We hope that we will have another wonderful year.
Chinese New Year is the most important festival for the Chinese family. It is a time for a family reunion. In Nania, it is a time when everyone comes together as a family to prepare for and celebrate a new year while wishing for health, happiness and good luck. The display corner is now decorated with fire crackers and beautiful plum blossoms to bring in the festival atmosphere. All the children know that the Chinese New Year Festival is around the corner. Perhaps, you have heard your children singing ‘Gong Xi Gong Xi’ or ‘Dong dong dong qiang’. Enclosed are the songs and poems we are practicing for the festival. Hope to see you on 13th of February [Friday] for the celebration.
