New Year greetings from Nania York !
We were back in Nania one week earlier to clean up the classroom. We washed the curtains, wiped the tables and chairs, dyed the hanging and play cloths, Over the days, we put out the class play material [stones, nuts, logs and toys] under the sun. We were lucky to have sunny days during our cleaning days. The house was quiet. We missed the children.
We also did some minor repairs and upgrades to the building and garden. As you may have noticed we built a composting area, installed a hot shower near the garden sink, and made modifications to the rabbit hutch.
Now that the holidays are over, we look forward to the 2016 school year. The newcomers settled down quicker than we expected while the other children are happy to play with their friends again. It is so nice to have the garden filled with laughter and to children running around after the long break.
We welcomed 4 new children who joined our class. They add new dynamics to the class. The older children in the class are role models for the younger ones to imitate. They include the new children in their play and morning artistic activities.
Chinese New Year is coming soon. The children have started to practise poems, singing Chinese New Year songs and dancing. As they practise, the whole house becomes alive with New Year mood. Decorations have been set up. Chinese New Year is the time when Chinese families come together to prepare for and to celebrate the New Year and they wish each other good health, happiness and good luck.
At Nania, we will celebrate the Chinese New Year festival with parents. Thus, we look forward to seeing you and your family on that day. Attached herewith is the programme and song sheet for your attention.
Best wishes to you all and may we have a wonderful year together. Gong Xi Fa CaiChristmas Celebrations
