The first day back to Nania went smoothly as one by one the children trod into the classroom looking cheerful and happy. They eagerly shared that they missed us and had looked forward for the school to re-open.
The Friday before, we teachers came back to spring-clean Nania as well as clean and sun the toys. In fact, that is our normal routine before welcoming the children back to Nania. For once we are grateful for the hot weather as we could get our work done quickly.
We observe that children are playing well and have gotten close to each other. Whenever there is a noise of a fallen object, they will show concern by asking their friends, ‘Are you okay?’. They eagerly offer tissue if someone needs it and quick on their feet to fetch some ice if someone has fallen down.
Now the children can clear and put away their toys efficiently after play. They even encourage each other to drink water in view of the hot and humid weather that we are experiencing for these few months.
The children eat well and we have more and more children able to eat and enjoy the daily vegetables that we have prepared. Their favorites are the french beans, english spinach, cauliflower cooked with broccoli, choyate and choy sum (mustard leaf).
So, parents, please cook them their favorite vegetables at home too.Teacher Nora
