We were glad to see you and your family during our Sports and Family day. The Japanese school hall was filled with enthusiastic energy from the children. They truly turned up in full spirit and right from the minute they entered the hall, they got familiar with the space by running and mingling with their friends.
When it was time for them to present, I was proud to see most of them participated willingly and happily. They enjoyed their songs and dance. For the few who couldn’t overcome the fear of participating in-front of large crowd, rest assured that they have sang and danced willingly and happily when we practiced in the classroom.
The children showed their competitive self-playing games with their parents and with a blink of an eye, the activities have reached the end. The children must have felt proud to receive an origami medal from the committee’s mothers.
Even though sports day is over, every now and then we can still hear them sing and dance the movement to the catchy tune of “Abuhamuniwa” in the class room. Some even sing the song while helping to set up tables for lunch.
During outside play time, they play games by reciting ‘Ready, steady, go and beep”. It will be some time before they put aside the sports day events and move on to the next celebration. These celebrations are important to the children for they chart and mark significant moments in their life.
As always the big children demonstrated to us their growing capability by moving in tune to the “Kumi Taiso” movements. They had been waiting to learn these movements and were excited to show their parents the moves ever since they learnt them.
Our appreciation goes to the fathers and some mothers too for their spontaneous participation with their children in the presentations, games and high jump activity. Because of your input, the games and activities were more fun and lively that day.
Lastly we wish to commend the effort put in by the mothers in our committee and also thank the teachers from Nania 2 for helping out.
We will break for a week and I wish you a wonderful holiday with your child/children.
