Recently, we celebrated Deepavali. The day before the festival celebration saw we busy making Deepavali lamps with paper cups and brown origami paper. On the actual day of the celebration, the teachers and all the children wore Deepavali traditional costumes to enhance the mood of the celebration. Teacher Chithra told the Deepavali story and after that we sang a Deepavali song together. The children enjoyed watching Teacher Chithra make the Rangoli decoration on the entrance floor. On that day, they enjoyed some Deepavali cookies and had a Deepavali lunch of tomato rice, egg curry, vegetables and papadom. They enjoyed themselves during the celebration very much.

On 18th November, we had the graduation ceremony for the 4 six-year-olds. As the 4 big children practised enthusiastically, the younger children co-operated by practising with them diligently and earnestly. We prepared the classroom together with all the children the day before. During the evening of the eve, we added some final touches to the place and finally the classroom was ready.

When the children arrived, they were pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful classroom adorned with flowers and that there was a rainbow stage.  Each of their faces beamed with awe.

The graduation ceremony began when their parents arrived together with our principal, Teacher Junko.  The graduating children stood upright with confidence to lead the ceremony.

To our surprise, one of the graduating children was overcome with emotion during presentation. Nevertheless, with some encouragement from us and his parents, he managed to finish the presentation confidently together with the rest of the graduating children. Later, we learnt that he was sad to leave Nania and worried not to seeing his beloved friends and teachers any more.

To the parents of our graduating children, we thank you for your wonderful and inspirational speeches. We truly appreciate the significant role you play in nurturing them.  We are glad to have been given the opportunity to be a part of their growing years.

To the graduating children, we love you and will always remember and cherish each and every moment that we have spent together.  You have graduated and are moving on to another milestone of your lives.  May you be courageous when you take on the many challenges that you will face in Primary Year 1 next year. You are welcome to visit us whenever you can. May you always remember the great times that you had at Nania.

With December soon approaching, we have started to practise for the Christmas Festival. We enclose herewith the Christmas festival programme and would like to share the songs that will be sung on that day. We hope you will enjoy singing these songs together with your child at home. We are looking forward to seeing you and your family on that day.

Congratulations to the 4 graduating children

It was a very special and memorable day. The graduation ceremony was so beautiful and touching.  The room was filled with warmth and love radiating from classmates, teachers and parents towards the 4 graduating children.

It was wonderful to watch the 4 children recite poems, sing, speak with confidence and also care for the younger children as they played and sang with them.  They stood upright to signal their readiness to go on a new phase in life. Having finished this phase with joy and confidence and determination, I believe each of them will continue to journey on to become who they truly are and who they want to be.

The parents’ messages also touched my heart very much.  I wish the graduating children and parents many happy and fruitful years to come.  I’m very grateful for your support and please keep in touch with us.

P.S

I was very touched by one of the boys determination to finish his presentation with his full heart although he was overwhelmed by the wonderful memories of Nania with tear flowing. I was also amazed by the other 3 graduating friends, who waited warmly to embrace him. These are the precious treasures which they can carry into their heart to their future.

Thank you.

Junko

Principal
