I thank you for coming to our Harvest Festival.  Again and again, I was truly amazed to see the skill with which the 5 big children in the class guided the smaller ones during their performance that day.  They learnt well by imitating the teachers during practices.  Finally they stood in-front of all of you singing and doing the songs and movements. The highlight of the Festival was their ability to recite the long poem “The Carrot Story”.

I need not say more because you were there and aren’t you as proud of them as I am?  They did amazingly well judging by the pictures taken by Teacher Chithra.  So for the next festival, please give her extra room to capture more wonderful pictures of your children.

Some children were not ready to perform in front of the large group.  However, they enjoyed singing and moving with the rest of the children while they were practising in the classroom.  Given time, I’m sure they’ll be happy and ready to perform to you.

The children enjoyed the festival hot bread and so did you.  They were made using organic flour and molasses sugar.Ask Aunty Janet if you need the recipe.

Coming up is the very important event for the English class i.e. the Graduation Day for the five 6 year olds.  We’ll have 2 boys and 3 girls graduating this November.

The 3 girls have been eagerly anticipating this moment as they have been with us for the past 3 years and finally it’s their turn! The 2 boys just joined us this year but they are equally eager to show their abilities at singing, playing and reciting poetry. They don’t complain or fuss during their many rehearsals.  They just want to do their very best and are looking forward to their ‘big day’.

Even the smaller children in the class have shown their support by practicing enthusiastically together with these big children.  The atmosphere in the class lately is full of happy laughter as they anticipate the arrival of the final moment when these ‘ko-ko’ and ‘che-che’ will perform their presentation.

Of late, all the children in the class are busy drawing beautiful drawings which will be bound into souvenir books for each of the graduating children.

Hence, to the dear parents of these 5 graduating children, please mark down in your calendar the 9th of November (Friday) as you are invited to join us on graduation day.  I have a small assignment for you. As tradition goes; both father and mother are requested to prepare to share with us a simple and touching story about your child for that day.
